JUMP FOR JOY AT A FREE HEALTH CHECK AT STREETLY VETS DURING RABBIT AWARENESS MONTH IN JUNE

Hop along to Streetly Vets for a free ‘Rabbit M.O.T’ for the whole of June to mark Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW).

• Free “Rabbit MOT”
• Free sample of burgess rabbit food with MOT
• 10% discount on rabbit vaccinations
• 10% discount on rabbit neutering
• 10% discount on rabbit dentals

Streetly Vets will be running the free rabbit checks throughout June and is urging all rabbit owners to bring along their bunnies to take advantage of the offer. It’s not just cats and dogs that need regular checkups at the vets; call 0121 572 6527 now to book yours or contact us.

Suzanne Moyes, veterinary manager at Burgess Pet Care, one of the UK’s leading pet food manufacturers, said the free health checks were essential in putting rabbits’ needs under the microscope.

“There’s a lot of myths and misinformation surrounding rabbit welfare and their needs often take a back seat to other pets. We hope this month’s health checks can improve people’s understanding of the diet, housing and behaviour of these highly intelligent, social, interactive and fun creatures. And, above all, ensure they all have a bunny buddy of their own. Let’s stop rabbits getting a raw deal!” #buddiesforbunnies

Many rabbits spend their days alone in small hutches, and their owners have little knowledge of their complex welfare requirements, and their need for companionship. The RAW 2016 campaign, organised by Burgess Pet Care, is focused on the importance of #BuddiesforBunnies, and is asking rabbit owners to pair up their pets with rescued rabbits from animal rescue centres.

RAW is an annual event that brings together vets, pet retailers, welfare charities, manufacturers and owners to educate people about proper rabbit care. Official RAW partners include: Burgess Excel, Panacur Rabbit, RSPCA, PDSA, The Blue Cross, Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF) and Wood Green, The Animals Charity.

Harry, unfortunately a delivery driver going to another shop in the parade was attacked and his van stolen. We took him in and administered first aid, fortunately the injuries did not appear serious.
